Subject: Please Help me Raise Funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation

Help me reach my donation goal
Friends and Family,

As you may be aware, over the past two years I have been diligently training and running Half Marathon’s and my next race is The Big D Half Marathon on April 5 2009. In addition, I am committed to supporting the Prostate Cancer Foundation in raising funds for prostate cancer research.

Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer in America, affecting one in six men. (One of them was my dad) Men are 35% more likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer than women are to be diagnosed with breast cancer!

Athletes for a Cure, a program of the Prostate Cancer Foundation, is a new fundraising and awareness program to assist individual athletes in their quest to raise money for better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer. The Prostate Cancer Foundation is the world’s largest philanthropic source of support for prostate cancer research with a simple, yet urgent goal: to find better treatments and a cure for recurrent prostate cancer.

I am dedicated to this race and hope that you will support me in reaching my fundraising goal. The BigD 13.1mi is my next race, and I am committing to making this an ongoing project with a goal of raising $10,000 this year.

I have also nominated PCF to be a member of Cisco’s I-Give Matching gifts program, and within 3hours of nomination we met the required # to proceed to the next phase of the process!
